Integrated Electrical Systems Engineering in Vehicles is a Master of Science program that involves the multidisciplinary integration of Vehicle Systems Engineering derived from energy, electric, electronics, communication and mechanical systems. Who is it for?

The MSc in Integrated Electrical Systems Engineering in Vehicles is a recently established course, developed to respond to the Renault Technologie Roumanie initiative which pointed out a clear demand in the automotive sector for graduates with advanced skills and education in the specialised field. The significant increase in the application of systems engineering has created an industry need for this Master's degree.

This course is designed for students with a solid Engineering, Mathematics or Applied Science undergraduate degree who want to achieve a skill set which combines energy, electric, electronics, communication, mechanics, digital control systems and physical system modelling, all trough the perspective of modern systems engineering.

Course information

This MSc program is structured in 4 Semesters and divided in two parts.

First part is made up of eighteen taught compulsory modules, which are delivered in 4 semesters with the following structure: 1st Semester from October to January (14 weeks), 2nd Semester from February to June (14 weeks), 3rd Semester from October to January (14 weeks) and the 4th from February to April (8 weeks).

The second part it is within the 4th Semester and consists on the practice activities (2 weeks) and the period for Dissertation preparation (4 weeks). The practice activities are held both on eMotion Research Centre and in the Technical Centre of Renault situated at 34 Km (21 miles) from Targoviste.

Course Assessment

The assessment of each module may be slightly different, but the generally valid weight of the grade consists in: Taught component (40%), Group project (20%), Individual research project (40%)

Who can apply and how?

European citizens from a State of the European Union have the same rights and obligations as the Romanian citizens.

If you are a foreign citizen you may be in one of the following situations:

  1. You are a foreign citizen from a State of the European Union (Romanian/EU);
  2. You are a foreign citizen from a State outside the European Union (Overseas).

Romanian/EU citizens can enroll in the program if they meet the following conditions:

a) they have documents proving the nationality of a State of the European Union;
b) they are graduated with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Overseas citizens can enroll in the program if they meet the following conditions:

a) they have documents proving the nationality of a State outside the European Union;
b) they are graduated with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

The Application file of Romanian/EU citizens must contain the following:

   Birth Certificate - copy and authenticated translation;
   Copy of the ID;
   Application for Admission - shall be filled in online;
   Copy and certified translation of a Baccalaureate Degree or its equivalent, certified by the relevant authorities of the issuing country;
   Copy and certified translation of Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent, certified by the relevant authorities of the issuing country;
   Transcripts / diploma supplements of related studies - certified copies and translations;
   Medical certificate (in romanian/english language) stating that person to enroll in studies not suffer from contagious diseases or other illnesses incompatible with the future profession.

The Admission of Romanian/EU candidates takes place on the admission office situated in the A Building of the University's Campus (Aleea Sinaia Street, no 13, 130004, Târgoviște, Dâmbovița, Romania) as well as online (https://admitere.valahia.ro).

The Application file of Overseas citizens must contain the following:

   Birth Certificate - copy and authenticated translation;
   Copy of the document certifying permanent residence abroad;
   Copy of the Passport;
   Application for Letter of Acceptance to study, completed for all entries (Annex. 2);
   Copy and certified translation of a Baccalaureate Degree or its equivalent, certified by the relevant authorities of the issuing country;
   Copy and certified translation of Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent, certified by the relevant authorities of the issuing country;
   Transcripts / diploma supplements of related studies - certified copies and translations;
   Medical certificate (in english language) stating that person to enroll in studies not suffer from contagious diseases or other illnesses incompatible with the future profession.

The procedure for Admission of Overseas candidates is as follows:

   Files are sent directly to our University (print the mailing address);
   Our University evaluates the files according to the regulations, and communicate to The National Education Ministry ("NEM") the list of individuals for letter of acceptance to study;
   The list will be accompanied by the copies of the candidate's files;
   After examination of the files, NEM issue the letter of Acceptance for each candidate;
   NEM transmits the letters of acceptance to our university, and where appropriate to the diplomatic missions in order to issue the visas;
* Incomplete applications will not be processed, and they will be rejected;
* Rejected cases or those who quit the place obtained shall be returned by our university, upon request, without additional charge.

Fees and funding

"Valahia" University of Targoviste welcomes students applications from all over the world for our programs. The Romanian student fees listed are applied to EU students.

The Students' Fees are divided as follows:

Romanian/EU

MSc Full-time RON 7,000 ~ €1,520 (RON 3,500/year, aprox. €760/year)

  • The fees outlined apply to all students whose initial date of registration falls on or between September 1st 2017 and September 25th 2017.
  • All students pay in HALF of the yearly tuition fee set by the University at the moment of study contract signing (RON 1,750, aprox. €380).
  • All students pay every year the matriculation fee (RON 200 ~ €43) at the moment of study contract signing.
  • The tuition fee includes only the education services.  If you need accommodation in one of our hostels you will pay €670 for a place in double room (booked for 10 months period and billed monthly). If you intend to live in a room for single person, you will pay an extra cost of €670 (for the 10 months period, billed monthly).

Fee eligibility at the Romanian/EU rate is determined with reference to Romanian Government regulations.

Entry requirements

A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or an Applied Science, with a wish to specialise in the growing field of Electrical Systems Engineering with direct applications on Electric Vehicles Automotive Industry.

Applicants who do not fulfil the standard entry requirements can apply for the Preparatory for Masters program, successful completion of which will qualify them for entry to this course.

 

English Language

You will need to provide evidence that you have achieved a satisfactory test result in an English qualification. If you don't have an English language qualification you may request to take the test in our university. The fee for the test is RON 300 for Romanian/EU and €100 for Overseas candidates.

Our minimum recommendations are as follows:

  • IELTS – 4 overall
  • TOEFL – 60
  • Cambridge English Scale – 140
  • Cambridge English: First - B

We can only accept tests taken within two years of your registration date (with the exception of Cambridge English tests which have no expiry date).

Please note that admission period it is between September 1st 2017 and September 25th 2017. Until then you may complete a pre-admission form which provides you with an overall image of the admission process. At this step no fee is required.

Romanian students are normally expected to attend an interview. Overseas and EU students may be interviewed by video call (like Skype).
